Annie Wersching passes away, leaves behind a weeping Hollywood
A sad day for Hollywood as it loses another star. Actress Annie Wersching passed away on January 29th. She was known for her roles in 24 (2001 to 2010), Timeless (2016 to 2018), Bosch (2014 to 2021), and the television series Star Trek: Picard (2020 to present). She passed away on Sunday at the age of 45. Indeed a star lost too soon. Annie Wershing’s publicist Craig Schneider broke the news of her passing to the public. He also said the cause of her death was cancer.
The actor’s husband Stephen Full also has a statement regarding his loss. He said, “There is a cavernous hole in the soul of this family today.” He went on to add “but she left us the tools to fill it. She found wonder in the simplest moment. She didn’t require music to dance. She taught us not to wait for the adventure to find you.” Annie Wersching also left three children behind. I have no doubt that Annie Wersching was loved and adored by her entire family.
If you ask me to play the Borg Queen in the television series Star Trek: Picard. In an interview with The Ready Room, the actor talked about her experience playing the character of the Borg Queen. To quote her the experience was “certainly a little intimidating.” She also explained her process of how she familiarized herself with the role by taking inspiration from the ones who played the role before. She explained how she was inspired by the others and then decided to make the character her own by moving forward with her own interpretation of the character. The Borg Queen was indeed one of the most iconic roles late Annie Wersching has been a part of.
Annie’s loss has surely affected more than her family as she was a cherished actor and was loved by her peers. One of the executive producers of Star Trek: Picard Akiva Goldsman talked about working with Annie Wersching and described his experience of working with her as an “utter joy”. He also said, “her entire Star Trek family is heartbroken”. Annie also worked with Jon Cassar who is the director and producer of 24. Upon Annie’s demise, he said “Annie came into my world with an open heart and a contagious smile” He, continued “Brandishing such talent, she took my breath away.”
There is no doubt Annie was loved by her family, her peers, and her fans. Comment down below which character played by the late actor is your favorite.
