Did Charlie Puth really shade Selena or is he just jealous?
It seems like the game of throwing shade is never going to end. If you don’t know what I’m talking about then you must be living under a rock. That was a bit harsh, wasn’t it? I’m sorry, for those who don’t know what has been going on let me give you guys a quick recap before we move on. It all started with all the vigilant folks on the internet who caught Hailey Bieber throwing shade at Selena Gomez. And the Internet was quick to put the ‘mean girl’ tag on Hailey Bieber and then Selena emerged and took the moral high ground and asked her fans to be respectful. This went on for quite a while and a lot of things from the past came up when it seemed like Selena Gomez would be going off the headlines, here comes Charlie Puth.

Many don’t know that Charlie and Selena have a history together. But this fact is not known to many because their relationship was short-lived and was not as public as Selena’s relationship with Justin Bieber. But their history together makes the post more interesting because it came when there are rumors of Selena Gomez and Zayn Malik linkup floating around.
The Twitter account that brought Charlie Puth’s shady post to light is called Pop Tingz. The account pointed out that Charlie made a tweet on 25th March and in the caption, he explained how Charlie Puth was throwing shade at Selena. The caption went like this, “In a now-deleted tweet Charlie Puth seemingly shades Selena Gomez referring to their song “Attention”. It was revealed that in 2017 Selena declined Charlie’s sexual advances.” The last part was surely a surprise to me because as far as I knew they mingled for a short while back in 2016 but I did not know Charlie tried to make moves in 2017 and Selena put him down. If that is the case then the song “Attention” could have been about Selena as the song was also released in 2017. And Charlie Puth’s deleted tweet read, “Attention is about what you think it’s about.”
But was Charlie Puth throwing shade or was the tweet a byproduct of jealousy? After all, Selena put him down when he was trying to make moves on her and now there are linkup rumors between Selena Gomez and Zayn Malik floating around.
