Evan Peters has donned many mantles over the years and there's no doubt that he is an extraordinary actor. But have you ever noticed something strange about the characters that he plays? It’s always the dark roles and playing deranged characters that have helped him shine over the years. So I am here wondering how he plays these sick and twisted characters with such ease. Does he have a dark secret? Or is it his passion that lets him push the boundaries? Well if we want answers to these questions we need a look back at some of the iconic performances by Evan Peters.

Evan Peters played Kyle Spencer in the third season of American Horror Story titled Coven. Kyle Spencer was a college student with a heart of gold. Kyle was smart, caring, and loved helping people but that was until his life took an unexpected turn. Kyle’s genius frat brothers drugged and assaulted witch Madison Montgomery. The witch didn’t show any mercy to any of them and used the powers to flip the bus the frat buddies were travelling in but unfortunately, Kyle was in the same bus and died in the crash. Kyle’s story did not end there. The witches brought Kyle back to life and he became their monster. Now talk about playing a character with murderous layers.
Charles Manson: Cult

American Horror Story season 7 titled Cult is arguably the best AHS season and my absolute favourite. We can see Evan Peters taking on different roles but in light of his recent performance in the latest Netflix Original Dahmer - Monster I had to bring this character up early in the list. Evan Peters played the character of Charles Manson who was a white supremacist. Charles Manson also orchestrated the horrific Tate/Labianca murders in 1969. Charles Manson was the reason behind the most brutal murders and Evan Peters was perfect to play the psychopath.
Austin Sommers: Double Feature

Peter Evans also played one of the vampires that appeared in Double Feature. But his portrayal of the vampire was distinctively different from the rest of the vampires. Many have played vampires before but how Evan trades in his humanity to be the best was what captivated me. Austin Sommers as a character was selfish and did not care what he had to do to whom as long as he got what he wanted.
James Patrick March: Hotel

Have you ever thought about designing a hotel that everyone thinks of as a paradise? James Patrick March did that. March designed the Hotel Cortez in Los Angeles as a murderer’s paradise, stocked with secret chambers and a lot of hiding places. Evan Peters did not just play the living James Patrick March, he also played the ghost of March. Even March’s ghost had a blood lust. The spirit coordinates an annual Devil’s Night, where serial killers come to the Cortez for a rage-filled night. But it was so eerie to see Evan Peters perform as a vengeful spirit.
Kai Anderson: Cult

If you want to see a character truly deranged and cake then it has to be Kai Anderson from the Cult. After seeing Peter Evens perform on screen as Kai Anderson I can say with certainty that it was Peter who put the Horror in the American Horror Story. The only word that can describe Kai Anderson is EVIL! No awful atrocity is awful enough for Kai Anderson, and Peter made the character his own on the big screen and that is what creeps me out the most.
Jeffrey Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story
Source: Vulture
Evan Peters has again left everyone with their jaws dropped with his performance in the Netflix original DAHMER - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story. The story of Jeffrey Dahmer is a horrific one, Dahmer gruesomely murdered seventeen people between 1978 and 1991. The horror Jeffrey Dahmer has left behind will forever haunt Milwaukee’s gay community. The performance of Peter Evens is more commendable because he played a real-life villain. Peter Evans was disturbingly accurate in his portrayal of the Milwaukee cannibal.
Now after considering all his iconic roles don’t you think Evan Peters is a bit too comfortable playing ruthless killers and psychopaths? Do you think he has a dark secret of his own? Comment down below!
