And truly, their iconic looks, including Taylor Swift's sculptural clock-themed Schiaparelli and Ice Spice's head-turning Baby Phat ensemble, stole the show. Let’s dive into the list of the 15 most talked-about Grammy outfits that proved, once again, that music's biggest night is also a fashion extravaganza!
1. Dua Lipa in custom Courrèges and Tiffany & Co.

When asked about her custom Courrèges look, which she styled with a Tiffany & Co. necklace, “One Kiss” singer Dua Lipa said she felt “very strong.” And while the deep V-neck gown definitely looks like something a Barbie would wear while shimmying to “Dance the Night,” it feels more Joan of Arc than anything. She wore three pieces from the brand’s 2023 Blue Book Collection, including a sculptural fish necklace in platinum and 18-karat yellow gold adorned with sapphires, rubellites, and diamonds, as well as a matching bracelet and cocktail ring.
2. Miley Cyrus in custom Margiela

Miley Cyrus, who won her first Grammy award for her song Flowers, rocked in a custom Maison Margiela sheer dress in gold. The dress was made from a staggering 14,000 gold safety pins with a pair of gold heels and what also grabbed the spotlight was her huge bouffant, a nod to a 70s, Barbarella theme. Her dress was created by John Galliano, who referenced a similar look from his FW 1996 collection.
Between this look and the designer’s viral Margiela couture show, it appears that 2024 is shaping up to be a comeback of sorts for the designer, who shaped much of the ’90s and early ’00s with theatrical shows that found their way onto the red carpet.
3. Taylor Swift in Schiaparelli couture

Only Swift could start trending hours before the Grammys just because she changed her profile picture to a black-and-white photo. Fans thought she was about to announce the highly anticipated Reputation (Taylor’s Version) drop, so when Swift’s website suspiciously went down shortly before the ceremony, she sent Twitter into a spiral.
Fans assumed the singer would be wearing all black—an homage to the Reputation era—but instead, she wore a sculptural white Schiaparelli couture gown with long trains and a high leg slit, black opera gloves, and a watch choker. That’s not all, she also made history at the 2024 Grammys Awards by securing a record-breaking fourth Album of the Year win for her critically acclaimed album Midnights.
4. Ice Spice in Baby Phat

You may remember the time when musicians didn’t necessarily have stylists, and they’d wear Canadian tuxedos, skirts over pants, apple-bottom jeans, and boots with fur with reckless abandon. Princess of rap, Ice Spice appeared in the same kind of energy in 2024 with a Baby Phat denim look trimmed with fuzzy details. She may have been barely a month old when the 2000 Grammys took place, but her looks feel like it could have pulled right from that red carpet.
5. Olivia Rodrigo in archival Versace

Olivia Rodrigo followed Old Hollywood glamor in a white gown speckled in shimmering embellishments. Her look was archival Versace from the Spring 1995 collection, originally worn by supermodel Linda Evangelista. Rodrigo consistently has the best vintage pulls, the kind that her Gen Z fans adore online and would probably write angsty, envious ballads about wishing they owned.
6. Gracie Abrams in Chanel

When we’re talking about the best Grammy looks, Spice’s fellow Best New Artist nominee Gracie Abrams went more subtle, in an all-black midriff-baring two-piece set by Chanel. When asked about her look, Abrams said she just wanted to “feel like I was in my own skin—and also match my mom.” While Abrams and Ice Spice wore two completely different looks, what they shared was a commitment to personal style. Abrams absolutely did look like one of her songs came to life.
7. Tyla in custom Versace

Then there was one newcomer who stole the show without even stepping foot onto the red carpet. Tyla stunned the night in custom Versace. She appeared on the red carpet in one shoulder, pistachio color dress, covered with head-to-toe Swarovski. The soft green color was just elegant and the perfect level of sheer. Netter crystals covered her arm and leg, making for an overall glam look and best-dressed-worthy look. The 22-year-old also won her first Grammy tonight for Best African Music Performance.
8. Laverne Cox in archival Comme des Garçons

You can always expect Laverne Cox not only to style herself but also to surprise us all with her own personal archival. She is just that fashion girl. For the 2024 Grammy look, Cox wore a Spring/ Summer 2015 Comme des Garcons outfit. She loves the dress because of what Rei Kawakubo said the collection was meant to represent, which was all about finding the beauty in disturbing things.
9. Caroline Polachek in archival Olivier Theyskens

Caroline Polachek isn’t known just for her music, but also for the looks she’s been able to create. Her archival FW 1998 Olivier Theyskens appearance isn’t just major because it’s major, but also because it also feels completely in tune with her otherworldly universe. With a red lace panel that appears to erupt, making cracks in her black gown, her look seems like it was made for her, even though it came to be long before she set foot in the studio.
10. Victoria Monét in Versace

Everyone always talks about couples who coordinate their red carpet looks but what could possibly be more iconic than a Mommy and Me Versace moment? Victoria Monét twinned with her daughter, Hazel, who is officially a best-dressed Grammys guest at just two years old.

13. Chlöe Bailey in copper-hued gown by Gaurav Gupta
2024 Grammy’s night trends of sparkle and glam continue with Chlöe Bailey's flowing, earthy bronze and gold gown by Gaurav Gupta, which had a bandeau top and twisted one-shoulder strap. She completed her dress with a copper blonde, deep-parted blowout and Pandora's Lab Grown Diamonds Infinite Collection. Bailey's custom Pandora necklace and earrings are in collaboration with Grete Henriette.

The waistline of the dress also featured floral accents made of black and silver crystals.
