The first rumors of the singers dating sparked back in the fall of 2012. Harry Styles was a part of One Direction. All the rumors began from a silver paper-plane necklace the One Direction singer used to wear. This very specific necklace reference later popped up in Taylor Swift’s “Out of the Woods” but the song was not all. In the fall of 2012, the Midnights singer was seen wearing the same necklace. But at that time it was all rumors and speculations as both of them ever confirmed the allegations. 

But soon their relationship became public after the pair were spotted strolling together in New York City. E! reported the couple was seen in the Central Park Zoo. Harry Styles’s hairstylist was also there. I guess the man likes to be ready for anything. The hairstylist Lou Teasdale was with her fiance and their daughter. And just like that the cat was out of the bag and there was no denying it. 

But sadly they did not last long and broke it off after dating for a few months in 2013. According to Us Weekly, the couple called it quits while vacationing in the British Virgin Islands. Talk about a disastrous vacation. Us weekly further reported after the breakup Styles remained there while the Midnights singer flew back to Nashville. 

After the breakup, Taylor Swift’s albums followed and obviously, she put in lyrics directed at her ex. That’s what people think happened. Taylor Swift dropped “1989” in 2014 just a year after their breakup and apparently two of her songs were dedicated to the relationship with Styles. Fans speculated her songs “Out of the Woods” and “Style” was dedicated to the British singer. The song name “Style” might have been too on the nose but the lyrics of “Out of the Woods” were bang on. Even in the music video, she was seen wearing the paper plane necklace. And you cannot just ignore the beautiful lyrics she wrote.

Taylor Swift also hinted at an accident that she might have been involved in while she was with Harry Styles. Her lyrics went like “Remember when you hit the brakes too soon/ 20 stitches in the hospital. She later revealed that she was indeed in a horrible snowmobile accident and was with an ex at the time of the accident.

Taylor Swift isn’t the only singer that has taken a few creative liberties after a breakup. Harry Styles also came with a song that mentions his ex, Taylor Swift. His debut solo album “Harry Styles” had a song titled “Two ghosts” and the lyrics were a dead giveaway.” His lyrics read,” Same lips red, same eyes blue/ Same white shirt, couple more tattoos.
