Krispy Kreme is Giving out Free Donuts, Did you get Yours?

Due to the global pandemic, the lives of high school and college students turned upside down. Though today we are getting a sense of “normal” the road to graduation has been a long and tough one. Krispy Kreme remembered everything, their chief marketing officer, Dave Skena in a press release said “We didn’t forget, so we’re celebrating their perseverance and accomplishments!”

“Senior Day Dozen” is not a one-day celebration. The donut chain started its graduation dozen on May 23rd and if you are a senior and want free donuts you can avail of the offer till the 29th of May. The “Senior Day Dozen” features four custom 2022 donuts and eight Original Glazed donuts. The four custom 2011 donuts feature one Chocolate Iced Kreme Filled donut decorated with a “2”, one Original Glazed donut decorated with “0” with white icing, one Cake Batter Filled donut dipped in yellow icing and decorated with a “2” and lastly a Strawberry Iced Kreme Filled donut decorated with a “2”.

This is not the first time Krispy Kreme has done something like this. Krispy Kreme actively reacts to trends through its marketing campaigns. Back in April, they ran a promotion where Krispy Kreme matched the price of their customer’s orders for a dozen Original Glazed donuts to the average for a gallon of regular gasoline. A dozen of Original Glazed donuts usually cost $10.79 but on 20th April the price of the dozen was set to the national gas average of $4.11. 

This campaign came in the midst of inflation and high gasoline prices when families were forced to take tough decisions. Krispy Kreme's marketing chief at that time announced “ While Americans are dealing with rising PPG - price per gallon - of gasoline, we’re lowering our PPOG - pierce per Original Glaze ''. He went on saying '' We know that despite the high gas prices, people have to be out and about anyway. So, for the next several Wednesdays, we hope providing a little donut deflation will allow them to share some smiles during a difficult time. A dozen Original Glazed Donuts for the price of a gallon of gas will help our fans make midweek a little sweeter for their friends and family. “

Next in stock will be their jubilee-themed treats which will be available between 30th May and 5th June. Many are waiting for their Platinum jubilee doughnuts. They will be introducing their tasty donuts: Jubilee Joy, Celebration Crown, and Platinum Sprinkles. Doesn't that sound delicious?
