KUWTK vs The Kardashians who did it Better?
When it was announced that The Kardashians would be on Hulu, fans scratched their heads and wondered how it would be different from their previous show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, which was on the E! Network. Since KUWTK had so many memorable scenes and ended in 2021, fans were surprised to hear that the famous family would be back on a different network.

The family took a year or so off from filming, and a lot happened to each member during that time, like Kim’s weight loss, Kourtney and Scott Disick’s differences and many more. That's why fans were so excited about their new Hulu show. Fans have noticed big differences between the two shows now that The Kardashians is in its second season. Both shows have their pros and cons, lets see them here.
What KUWTK Did Better?
There were more group scenes.
Fans love seeing each family member in their own home and getting to know what they're like, but there's something nostalgic about seeing them all together.
There were a lot of family scenes on KUWTK. Most of them used to all live together under one roof. Kendall and Kylie lived at home when they were younger, and Kim moved back in with her mom while she and Kanye West's house was being built. But now that everyone lives on their own, groups get together through lunches, visits, and business meetings.
They are popular now
Even though the Kardash-Jenners don't want to admit it, their level of fame might make it hard for them to make new content for screens. The fact that the family was well-known in Calabasas but not around the world made KUWTK so great.
As fans, it was exciting to see Kim get her first job or the three sisters do ads together. It was also exciting to see them get engaged and start getting married on TV. Everything was brand new. Their fame grew as the show went on. As time went on, the jobs they got became more desirable, and the homes they bought got bigger. Now that the Kar-Jenners have everything they could ever want in their careers, the new show might seem boring without the same excitement for new opportunities.
Characters on the side are missed.
Not wanting Scott Disick or Rob Kardashian on The Kardashians would be an unpopular opinion. Scott and Kourtney had their ups and downs as a couple and as co-parents, but he was still funny and honest and a great addition to the family. Fans of KUWTK, like Scott, also miss Caitlyn Jenner being on the show.
Kris and Caitlyn were both important to the show. Her ideas were different from everyone else's, so it was fun to see how she raised Kylie and Kendall and how she dealt with situations. Rob Kardashian is in the same situation. So far, Rob hasn't shown up on The Kardashians, which is making fans miss the original show.
Kris Jenner As The Ultimate Momager
Kris Jenner was responsible for most of Kim's well-known and forgotten projects. Kris did everything she could as her daughters' "momager" to get them advertising and modelling jobs before Kim, Khloé, Kourtney, Kendall, and Kylie became some of the most famous people in the world.
Now that the women have their own assistants, PR teams, and lawyers, it doesn't look like they'll need Kris's help as much in the new series. But what made KUWTK the best was that it was about a family. It was inspiring to see a mom take care of her daughters and get them off on the right foot.
There's nothing left to hide.
Because of social media, it's hard for the sisters to keep secrets from people who follow them. Fans find out about everything, like who they're dating, upcoming projects, collaborations, and relationship problems, online and on social media. By the time the next year's episodes come out, fans already know most of what happened, so the problems in the episodes don't come as much of a surprise. The way Kim and Pete Davidson are together is a good example.
In the early days of KUWTK, social media wasn't as big as it is now, so viewers saw these sad or crazy things happen as they happened.
What did the Kardashians do better?
The Camera Work
Fans of Hulu's The Kardashians have noticed that the camerawork and effects make it interesting to watch. This is one of the best things about the show, besides the funny quotes. From drone footage of the Kardashian-Jenners' homes and offices to aerial views of California's hills and mega-mansions, KUWTK makes The Kardashians look like something from the future. The music, slow-motion scenes, and fast-paced scenes also help.
There’s very less planning
One reason KUWTK has been so popular for 20 seasons is that the family and the people who make the show know how to make a fun episode. The family has been caught more than once re-filming a scene or lying about when it happened.
Some things on KUWTK that were scripted were when Kris Humphries asked Kim to marry him and when Khloé got a DUI in 2007. (according to Your Tango). So far, the stories and episodes of The Kardashians seem more real and honest.
Spend more time with the team
The Kardashians and Jenners have a whole team of people helping them run their businesses. Fans of KUTWTK have caught glimpses of the hair and makeup teams, but The Kardashians has shown more of the people who help the Kardash-Jenner family make a living.
On The Kardashians, Kim's business partner Tracy Romulus and her longtime makeup artist Mario have both been shown. This gives viewers a more personal look at how these people are related to the family. Fans are looking for this kind of genuineness.
Confessions Made on the Spot
The Kardashians have been in enough TV shows, movies, and confessionals to know how to film and make them.
KUWTK has always had confessionals. When filming was done, the family would go back to the studio and talk about what happened on TV so that viewers could understand how the person felt at that time. The Kardashians still has confessionals, but there is a difference between them. There are both planned and unplanned confessions on the Hulu show. When the producers pull a Kar-Jenner off to the side and ask them a question during a scene, this is a "spontaneous shot." This part of the show makes it feel more real and less like it was made in a studio. Even the fake confessions feel less forced and more natural.
A deeper understanding of their Businesses
In the past, the Kardash-Jenners have had their fair share of spin-offs, but none of them have been about their own brands. On The Kardashians, viewers finally learned how the women run their many businesses behind the scenes.
In the first episode of the first season, a drone flew through the offices of Kim, Kylie, and Kris. In each office, there were many people doing their jobs, as well as cameras and teams. Fans of The Kardashians want to see more of Khloé's clothing brand (Good American), Kendall's tequila company (818), and Kourtney's lifestyle brand (Poosh). People will be influenced by how well the family runs their business.
A better household tour
If the Kardashians don't want to make the same mistakes, On KUWTK, they should spend less time doing boring things at home. Memes show Kim, Khloé, and Kourtney sitting around a table, eating salads and looking at their phones while not talking about anything interesting. People thought that these scenes were just filler and not worth their time.
Now that season 2 of The Kardashians is over, the family scenes are better. There's so much going on at home, with the kids getting older and running around and with personal relationships, that these filler scenes don't seem to be a problem so far.
A new perspective on personalities
Fans of The Kardashians on Hulu knew that the show would show the family in a different way. Each sister gave a hint that fans of KUWTK would see new sides of everyone that they hadn't seen before. So far, this has been true. There are scenes of the family as a whole talking and getting closer, but there is also a lot of focus on each member as an individual.
Fans get to see more individual scenes, like Khloé working out at home before going to Scott's house or Kourtney house-hunting with Travis.
Everything said and done KUWTK is an emotion and we can’t deny ourselves and hence keep going to Netflix or Youtube to see the best scenes, don’t we?
