Now Dylan Mulvaney's collab with Maybelline has people screaming 'boycott'

It has been only weeks since Dylan Mulvaney faced backlash for posting her partnership with Bud Light and now she is facing more anti-trans backlash for posting some adverts months ago. Speculations are the backlash started by Oii London who is a former “trans-racial” internet personality. Oii London shared a post where Mulvaney was misgendered and in addition to that, the post also made fun of an old Maybelline partnership shared by Dylan Mulvaney.

Boycott Maybelline

After this, the hatred against Mulvaney started to pile up with anti-trans campaigner Jordan Peterson jumping in. Jordan Peterson took his social media handle to urge his followers to “boycott Maybelline”. But few Twitter users were quick to point out that Maybelline and MAC are different brands that are owned by two different parent companies. But the world has no shortage of haters and #BoycottMaybelline trended on Twitter. But as usual, the internet was divided as few were all for #BoycottMaybelline others thought the brand was “woke”.

But Dylan Mulvaney has her own following and her supporters were all in and spoke in favor of the 26-year-old influencer. And frankly, some of the tweets were really funny. As one Mulvaney fan jokingly tweeted,” It’s going to be good fun when the transphobes realize they need to boycott every single makeup and fashion brand, and are forced to walk around in just paper bags.” You have to agree with me on this one, the user has a vivid imagination as this is a very funny thought to imagine.

But jokes were not all that were coming from the supporters of Dylan Mulvaney. One of her supporters linked a Maybelline video and wrote,” This is the entire reason they’re having a meltdown. Because Maybelline dared to sponsor a trans woman for this 13-second video.” There is no doubt there is intolerance for the trans community even today and this Mulvaney supporter has shown just how intolerant and petty people can be towards the trans community.

The scary part is all this hate is not just restricted to the internet it boils over into the real world and has real-world consequences. Just like the backlash that went on for weeks by the right-wingers over the influencer’s partnership with Bud Light. The backlash has had some real-world consequences and the marketing vice president has stepped back from her role I’m fairly positive we can thank the bigoted backlash for this.

Alissa Heinerscheid is the lady who stepped back from her role of marketing vice-president but initially, she came in defense of Mulvaney and stated it was Bud Light’s attempt to make the brand less “fratty” and more inclusive but it is reported that she has taken a leave of absence since the backlash.

I would have never thought an ad would get such attention only for featuring a trans woman. Even right-wing celebrities jumped in and I thought Kid Rock’s reaction was the most intense as he was seen unloading an assault weapon into boxes of Bud Light cans. And Kid Rock also claims he would launch his own brand of beer to rival Bud Light and it would be “100 percent woke-free beer”.

This is getting very serious but do you think brands should get threats for featuring someone from the transgender community? Comment down your thoughts below.
