Where else can you take your kids bobsledding into the jungle canopy? Or how about climbing up a world-famous waterfall? Or witness the brightness of a lagoon in the dark with your own eyes? Gorgeous cultures, delectable flavors, and some of the world's most beautiful beaches may all be found in Jamaica. It's impossible to get a true sense of the country in only a few days during spring break, but that's just another reason to return.
Whistler, Canada

Head to Whistler, British Columbia, on the Coast Mountain resort town's spring break if you'd rather trade in your surfboard for skis. By March, the peak season has begun to fade, and resorts are offering fantastic offers to keep the winter spirit alive.
Spring in Whistler is ideal for skiers and snowboarders, with longer days, a bright sky, and a healthy snowpack. Take a ride on the Peak 2 Peak Gondola, a 4.4-kilometer engineering marvel that connects the peaks of Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains, for 360-degree vistas of this alpine Arcadia. Hike through conifer forests at lower elevations to spot the area's black bears as they emerge from hibernation and that is definitely a sight to behold!

Why don't you spend your Spring Break in 'Margaritaville?' The Keys — not only have wonderful beaches and a vibrant nightlife for adults, but also world-class diving and snorkeling. Unique family-friendly experiences like beach camping in Islamorada, visiting injured sea turtles being rehabilitated in the Middle Keys' Turtle Hospital, and touring the Fisher Museum's Potter-inspired "Renaissance Science, Magic, and Medicine" exhibit are all worth adding to your agenda.
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Rio de Janeiro, as one of South America's best beach locations, has something to offer every sort of spring breaker — breathtaking views, delectable cuisine, and a wide range of outdoor adventures await to make your spring break one to remember. On the warm shores of the Cidade Maravilhosa (Marvelous City), you'll catch some of Brazil's greatest rays: choose a spot on Ipanema Beach to see and be seen, or join the crowds on Copacabana's hotel-lined seafront. At day, take the cable car up to Po de Açcar (Sugarloaf Mountain) or bask in the towering shadow of Cristo Redentor atop Corcovado, and by night, hit the Botafogo bar scene or party to the sounds of samba in Lapa's clubs.
Cuba, Caribbean

Cuba awaits you with Spanish architecture, classic autos, and salsa dancing. If you want to spend some quality time at the beach, you can't go wrong with Cuba. On and off the resorts, there's much to do, including must-try food, tours of Santiago de Cuba, and family portraits along El Malecon.
Away from Los Cabos' tourist traps, Baja California Sur offers a variety of possibilities for a more natural spring break. The weather is perfect this time of year, and the beautiful coastline offers opportunities to swim with sea lions, kayak through turquoise waters, go whale watching (season ends in March), and even volunteer for turtle conservation, all of which will allow you to return home with ecological bragging rights rather than drinking stories.
Tampa Bay, Florida

Spring break originated in Florida, although places like Miami and Panama City Beach, the ultimate spring break hub, often get the limelight. This is unfortunate because the state's often-overlooked Southwest region contains many hidden jewels. We prefer Tampa Bay, which boasts 35 miles of pure white beaches with dune-dotted areas for conventional sun-and-sand enjoyment.
Fort DeSoto Park is a showpiece, with 7 miles of sand, good trails, and wildlife-spotting chances. Meanwhile, Tampa and St. Petersburg entice with seafood-rich, inventive eating options, unique craft breweries like bike-themed Cycle Brewing, and unexpected cultural attractions like the Dali Museum in St. Petersburg.
Asheville, North Carolina

Asheville is the ideal spring break location for travelers searching for a vacation plan that goes beyond the beach, with southern charm, a growing gastronomy scene, and plenty of outdoor adventure possibilities. With more craft breweries per capita than any other city in the US, this little city in the Appalachian foothills is a beer lover's paradise. From Southern staples like Tupelo Honey to real Spanish tapas at local favorite Crate, the food scene is diverse.
The Biltmore, America's grandest house, is also close by, with groomed lawns and gardens to explore on foot or by bike. Those hoping to spend their spring break in the great outdoors will not be disappointed.
The Galapagos Islands, Ecuador

Do you want to spend your spring break on an island but despise the crowds? The Galápagos Islands are ideal for nature lovers and adventure seekers. This surreal archipelago in the Pacific Ocean is located 563 miles off the coast of Ecuador and is home to some of the world's most uncommon and distinctive flora and animals. The Galápagos Islands have a small human imprint and unparalleled biodiversity, with indigenous animals such as giant tortoises, and marine iguanas roaming the islands at close enough range for interaction. Around the islands, there are cruises, ecolodges, and a plethora of feel-good options to become involved with conservation and social development efforts.

Nothing in the world compares to the never-ending celebration that is Las Vegas. That goes for children as well! Bring the kids to Hershey's Chocolate World, the Observation Wheel, aquariums, the Discovery Children's Museum, and entertaining family entertainment like Cirque du Soleil and Jabbawockeez.
Cancun, Mexico

Cancun has all of the makings of a classic spring break destination. Along with its white-sand beaches and stunning coastline, this Mexican city offers a plethora of all-inclusive resorts with affordable packages that include drinks, meals, and entertainment, as well as a lively nightlife scene (don't miss Coco Bongo). Many travel agencies offer student discounts on vacation packages to Cancun. If you become tired of the beach, visit Chichén Itzá and El Rey Ruins, which are Mayan ruins.
