The tale of throwing shade ft. Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez

Right around the same time, Hailey Bieber planned a girls’ night with Kendall Jenner and Justine Skye. The three ladies decided to make a TikTok while lip-syncing to the audio, “And I’m not saying she deserved it, but I’m saying God’s timing is always right.” I am not an expert on God’s timing but the timing for putting out this TikTok was definitely wrong. The trio of Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner, and Justine Skye gave out some serious “Mean Girls” vibe. But it was not wrong before Hailey took down TikTok.

Although Hailey took down TikTok the damage was done and people were talking about it. Now we do have to consider one thing before we move on. All of this is just speculation from the fans. There is a good chance the three ladies went out to party and decided to make a TikTok and chose the wrong audio to lip sync on. Especially after Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez were seen smiling in their viral photo. Everyone assumed they were on good terms and even Hailey said it herself. Back in September 2022, Hailey Bieber spoke with Alexandra Cooper of Call Her Daddy. In the conversation, Hailey said there is no bad blood between her and Selena Gomez. But after she put out the TikTok everyone seemed to forget about the conversation and started building things up in their head, or did they?

It’s safe to say netizens did not take kindly to TikTok and started calling out Hailey Beiber. Some TikTok creators went on to call Hailey the ‘B’ word with one of them saying “The whole BALDWIN clan needs to go. There was certainly no lack of salt. But things are not as simple as they appear. Deducing a situation and giving a logical response might not be everyone’s cup of tea so everyone just jumped the gun when it came to blaming Hailey Bieber. But there is another aspect most missed. The TikTok was posted around the same time when Tristen Thompson’s mother passed away. It makes more sense to me that Hailey took it down because she wouldn’t want anybody to think they were talking about Kristen’s mom. 

With so much shade going around Selena Gomez had to reply. There were so many creators making Tik Tok so Selena decided to comment on one such TikTok. She wrote, “It’s ok! I don’t let things get me down. Be nice to everyone.” Honestly speaking maybe Hailey’s TikTok was meant for Selena maybe not but the drama that this debacle created could have been easily avoided. Selena Gomez clearly struggles with her physical appearance and it’s not a secret. She went live on TikTok and talked about the whole issue. Honestly, it’s brave of her to do that. But if we want to call someone out for all this drama it should be the people who body-shamed Selena in the first place. 

It’s the curse of being a celebrity I guess. People go on vacations all the time and that’s exactly what Selena had in mind but it turned into shade games. Why? Because someone with a camera was there, some keyboard warrior thinks he can say whatever he wants, someone made a TikTok, and we all have a lot of free time on our hands.
