Puffiness in the skin can be tackled by making some lifestyle changes. De-stress

You could be waking up with a puffy face if you have been under stress lately. Stress affects the face of the person by making it age more and usually puffiness is the first sign of it. Feelings of anxiety have a direct effect on the gut and it clearly shows on the face. There are numerous ways of de-stressing oneself. Engage in activities that give you peace of mind and balance out your emotions. Restart your old hobbies and watch how it can help you unwind the stress of the day. 

Follow a Sleep Schedule 

Erratic sleep schedules can cause tiredness which can be seen on the face. Sleep is crucial to maintain skin health and it’s the same thing that goes for the toss. Altered sleep cycles can be one of the contributing reasons as to why you could be waking up with puffiness on your face. Maybe you are binge watching your favorite shows late at night or just taking on the load of your office at home.

Stop Using Makeup 

Makeup can trigger more puffiness in the eye and face skin and you might benefit from stopping using any kind of makeup temporarily. If you have to use makeup then do not forget to clean it off before going to bed and moisturize your skin properly. Makeup can actually be heavy on the skin and can clog your pores and it's an add-on when you already have puffy skin.

Swap Alcohol for Water

Too much alcohol can bloat your body and even cause face puffiness. Next time you want to grab a shot of alcohol, swap it for plain water or even warm tea if you would like. It’s no secret that alcohol is damaging for the body and having it regularly can also show its effect on the skin and increase the puffiness in the face. 

Skip Junk Food for Healthy Foods

Your current diet could be full of sugar, salt and oil. You could be drinking coffee after you wake up. If you have these habits, you are likely more prone to waking up with a puffy face in the morning. Don't worry! There is a solution for this and it is swapping refined sugary and salty products with healthy snacks rich in protein and healthy fats. Excessive and low value carbs present in the junk food can cause internal dehydration which is one of the main reasons for causing puffiness in the face. 

Are you Allergic? Get a Test Done. 

You could be eating foods that cause bloating in the stomach and puffiness on the face. Certain grains are high in gluten or even MSG which can be a contributing factor for face puffiness. Go on a gluten free diet and see if you can see any changes on your face. Or you could be intolerant to lactose and all dairy derived products? Get yourself tested from a nutritionist or a doctor for certain food-based allergies.
