It is true! No Kardashians at this year's Met Gala?

It is rumored that Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour is making some cuts from the guest list and the Kardashian-Jenner clan might be cut from the guest list. But if the rumors are true and the family of reality stars is excluded. Kim Kardashian made her debut at Met Gala back in 2013 but her sisters, Khloe Kardashian, and Kourtney Kardashian made their first appearance at the Met Gala last year in 2022. Now considering Kim Kardashian has been a part of the Met Gala since 2013 making the decision to exclude her from one of the biggest fashion events is a huge thing. Although Vogue has not made a comment on whether the Kardashian-Jenner clan is on the list or not, there is speculation going around that the presence of the Kardashians gives more focus to controversial moments rather than fashion. And after I saw Kim Kardashian wearing the Marilyn Monroe dress at the 2022 Met Gala, I low-key agree that the Kardashians attract more controversy.

I have to agree on this, Kardashians do attract controversy. I mean after all controversy has been the stepping stone to their fame. And Met Gala’s most controversial attire has been worn by none other than Kim Kardashian herself. Yes, I am talking about the Marilyn Monroe dress Kim K wore at the Met Gala 2022. It was Marilyn Monroe’s iconic sparkle-covered, nude illusion. Yes, I’m talking about the gown worn by the late Marilyn Monroe to sing “Happy Birthday” to John F. Kennedy. Although Marilyn Monroe’s estate did not have any objections, Kim Kardashian still left a lot of people unhappy. And in that list of unhappy people, there was the designer of the iconic gown Bob Mackie. And why were they upset? Well, all of them believed that the iconic gown should be preserved instead of Kim Kardashian flaunting it at Met Gala.

Kim Kardashian wearing the dress was not the only controversy, Met Gala 2022 was more like a packaged deal of controversies. Now that we have covered Kim Kardashian flaunting an iconic gown on the red carpet, let’s explore a separate avenue of controversy that got people’s attention last year. News also spread that Kim k had to lose 16 pounds in just three weeks and the methods she tried were not at all safe. Kim Kardashian put herself in danger to lose a few pounds and in the process, she also promoted unhealthy body standards.

Last year for the Met Gala Kim Kardashian was the gift that kept on giving. Ripley’s Believe It or Not! was the museum franchise that gave Kim K the gown to wear for the Met Gala. People noticed something interesting when the museum franchise posted a video of Kim Kardashian trying out the gown. People noticed that Kim Kardashian did not have any gloves on while on the red carpet of the Met Gala. 

It surely feels like Met Gala 2022 did more for Kim Kardashian than the annual fundraising gala did for fashion itself. After last year’s gala, most of the talks were regarding Kim K wearing the iconic gown on the red carpet and that might be a reason Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour might be considering the Met Gala 2023 without the Kardashian-Jenner clan.
