Selena Gomez Spotted in Paris Shooting Upcoming Musical Crime Comedy 'Emilia Perez' while Controversy Surrounds Her Angry Encounter at Beyonce's Show

Selena has been popping around in Paris and on Friday she was also spotted attending Beyonce’s Renaissance World Tour at the Stade de France. Also, reports suggest the 30-year-old singer was spotted taking selfies with her fans. That’s so Selena, she loves and adores her fans. But taking pictures and selfies doesn’t really mean she is in Paris shooting her next film. So who broke this news?

It was Elle who claimed Selena Gomez was in Paris to film her next musical crime comedy, Emilia Perez. Honestly, I did not know much about the upcoming film so I did what anyone would have done. I googled Emilia Perez! This is all the information I have gathered so far. The film is being directed by French filmmaker Jacques Audiard and apart from Selena, the cast of the film also lists Karla Sofia Gascon and Zoe Saldana. Unfortunately, there was no release date mentioned. 

I must admit I was late to the party, how do I know it? Well, when I was conducting my thorough investigation about the film titled Emilia Parez I found out Variety first reported it back in January. The media outlet didn’t just give details like who is starring in the film and who is directing it, they also shared a bit about the movie’s plot. 

The musical crime comedy will follow the trans actor Karla Sofia Gascon who will be playing a Mexican cartel leader who has changed his gender to escape the law. Seriously with this plot, there will be so many comic opportunities. But a story about a Mexican cartel head should have been shot in Mexico. Well, that was the plan but the location was changed to Paris as per Jacques Audiard’s wishes. I guess he wanted to keep it close to home after all the French filmmaker was born in Paris.

Selena got angry?

Selena Gomez shooting her next upcoming project is not the only news out of Paris. While Selena was attending Beyonce’s show an incident happened that made Selena angry and the moment was acquired by none other than TMZ. At Beyonce’s show, many fans took pictures and videos of the singer, and out of those many videos, there was one clip where we could see Selena Gomez angry and having a heated discussion with a security guard.

But what got her angry is still a mystery. Some suggest the singer was mobbed by fans, while some think the security guard might have been a bit too rough while handling a fan. But we have to take these possibilities with a grain of salt because no official statement has been made about the incident.
