Some of these movies are already streaming on your favorite platforms, perfect for cozy nights. But if you're dying to see "American Fiction," "Poor Things," or "The Zone of Interest," grab your popcorn and head to the cinema – they're only showing in theaters right now.

Don't worry, though! You can still stream most of the Best Picture nominees. Want to know where to find them? Look no further! We've compiled a guide to answer where you can stream the 2024 Oscar nominees for Best Picture.

1. "American Fiction"

Cord Jefferson’s brilliant comedy-drama film, based on the 2001 novel Erasure by Percival Everett, “American Fiction” follows a frustrated novelist-professor who writes an outlandishly stereotypical "black" book as satire, only for the book to be published to high sales and praise.

Aside from nominations for Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, and (most deservedly) Best Original Score,  two nominations at the 81st Golden Globe Awards, Jeffrey Wright picked up a nomination for his performance, as did Sterling K. Brown in a somewhat surprising addition. Painfully snubbed, however, was Erika Alexander, who in several ways is the heart of the film.

The film currently enjoys an exclusive big-screen run, which means you can watch American Fiction only in theaters for now.

2. "Oppenheimer"

Christopher Nolan’s epic Atomic biopic is the most-nominated film of the year with 13 awards. The director picked up nods for his reliably stellar directing and jam-packed screenplay, adapted from Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin’s non-fiction novel American Prometheus.

For her scene-stealing role as J. Robert Oppenheimer’s hard-drinking wife, Kitty, Emily Blunt also received her first Oscar nomination. On the other hand, the lead actor Cillian Murphy was likewise nominated for his turn in the title role, as was Supporting Actor hopeful Robert Downey Jr. Nolan’s fearsome epic also earned nods for its devastating sound, cinematography, costume and production design, editing, hairstyling and makeup, and original score.

Overall the film has received critical acclaim for its screenplay, score, visuals, and cast performances and was named one of the top ten films of 2023 by the National Board of Review and the American Film Institute. If you’re wondering where to watch Oppenheimer, the film is available to rent on Amazon, Apple TV, Google Play, Vudu, and YouTube

3. "Anatomy of a Fall"

Nominated for Best Picture, Best Director (Justine Triet), Actress in a Leading Role (Sandra Hüller),  Original Screenplay and Film Editing. A 2023 French legal drama thriller film, directed by Justine Triet also picked up nominations for Original Screenplay and Editing.

Triet has made history as the sole woman nominated for Best Director at the Academy Awards, standing out among five talented filmmakers. Also, she has become the eighth woman in history to be nominated for Best Director here. On the other hand, Sandra Hüller picked up a well-deserved nom for her role as a woman wrongly accused (or is she?) of murdering her husband.

The movie is currently streaming online. You can watch Anatomy of a Fall on Amazon, Apple TV, Google Play, Vudu, and YouTube

4. "Barbie"

When it comes to Oscar nominations in 2024, Greta Gerwig’s “pop-pink feminist Fantasia” netted Ryan Gosling a nomination for Best Supporting Actor and America Ferrera a much-deserved yet unanticipated nod for Best Supporting Actress. As with 2019’s Little Women, Gerwig regrettably missed out on a directing nod again not to mention lead actress Margot Robbie’s snub, Although she and partner Noah Baumbach were recognized in the Best Adapted Screenplay category (which is a controversy in its own right).

You can watch Barbie on Max, Amazon's Prime Video, and Apple TV.

5. "The Holdovers"

In the Oscar Movies Streaming 2024 list, Alexander Payne’s throwback  Christmas comedy-drama film follows an irascible professor (Best Actor nominee Paul Giamatti) who’s holed up at a boarding school through the winter holiday with his least favorite student (Dominic Sessa) and a grieving cook (Supporting Actress nominee Da’Vine Joy Randolph, the film’s greatest asset). The Holdovers also received nominations for its screenplay and editing.

Where to watch The Holdovers? You can watch the film on Peacock. Also, the film is available to rent at home on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and YouTube.

6. "Killers of the Flower Moon"

Oscar-nominated for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Costume Design, Best Original Song, Best Original Score, Best Production Design, Best Editing, and Best Cinematography.

One of the most recognized films from the Oscar-nominated Movies 2024, Killers of the Flower Moon scored a total of 10 nominations, including Martin Scorsese’s 10th Best Director nod, making him bypass Steven Spielberg as the most nominated living director. Set in 1920s Oklahoma, the film focuses on a series of murders of Osage members and relations in the Osage Nation after oil was discovered on tribal land.

For her brilliant performance, Lily Gladstone was nominated for the first Best Actress nomination for a Native American actor, and Robert De Niro his ninth acting nomination, though Leonardo DiCaprio was left unrecognized. The film also picked up nods for its cinematography, costume and production design, editing, score, and original song.

Where to watch Killers of the Flower Moon? The film is streaming exclusively on Apple TV+ and is available to buy or rent on Amazon's Prime Video.

7. "Maestro"

Bradley Cooper’s fairly stunning biographical romantic drama film that focuses on the relationship between American composer Leonard Bernstein and his wife Felicia Montealegre (Best Actress contender Carey Mulligan) earned seven nominations. While Cooper was overlooked in the Best Director category, he still netted noms for Best Actor and Best Original Screenplay with Josh Singer, respectively.

Aside from this Matthew Libatique’s cinematography, the film’s hairstyling, makeup, and sound artists are up for awards as well. Maestro is one of the Oscar movies streaming on Netflix this year.

8. "Past Lives"

Another romantic drama film, directed by Celine Song, stars Greta Lee and Teo Yoo as former flames who reunite decades after they’ve last seen each other, where a question lingers over whether or not they made the right choices in life.  If you don’t know the film is inspired by real events from Song's life.

Past Lives largely received positive reviews and was named one of the top ten films of 2023 by the National Board of Review and the American Film Institute and received several awards including five nominations at the 81st Golden Globe Awards, including Best Motion Picture – Drama. At the 96th Academy Awards, it received nominations for Best Original Screenplay and Best Picture.

You can watch Past Lives on rent on Amazon, Apple TV, Google Play, Vudu, and YouTube.

9. "Poor Things"

Directed by Yorgos Lanthimos and written by Tony McNamara, the horror fantasy comedy film Poor Things starring Best Actress nominee Emma Stone as Bella Baxter, a Frankenstein’s monster-esque creature who embarks upon a life-affirming adventure — scored a total of 11 Oscar nominations in 2024.

Aside from being nominated for Best Director, the film also earned nods for Best Supporting Actor (Mark Ruffalo), its adapted screenplay, cinematography, costume and production design, editing, hairstyling and makeup, and singular score.

Somewhat overlooked was Willem Dafoe for his surprising performance as the mad doctor (though he disputes that descriptor). Maybe audiences are just too used to seeing Dafoe weird it up onscreen.  The film like a few other Oscar-nominated Movies in 2024 such as American Fiction, you can watch Poor Things only in theaters.

10. "The Zone of Interest"

The Zone of Interest, Jonathan Glazer’s brutal, searing examination of complicity and family surrounding the Holocaust is one of the unusual movies to be nominated for both Best Picture and Best International Feature Film (U.K.). Director Glazer also earned heartily deserved Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay nominations, while Johnnie Burn and Tarn Willers were nominated for Best Sound.

As of now, the film is currently running in theaters and is not yet available to rent or buy on demand. But, as per the sources, it will eventually stream on Max because of a deal between the streamer and the firm distributor, A24. So currently you can watch The Zone of Interest in theaters only.
